Automations
Automations allow Sensoware to perform an action automatically when selected conditions are met. You can use them to respond to device readings and events without checking the app continuously.
How Automations Work
Each automation contains:
- Trigger: The device event or reading that starts the automation.
- Condition: The rule that determines when the automation should run.
- Action: What Sensoware does when the condition is met.
For example, an automation can notify you when a sensor reading moves above or below a selected value.
Create an Automation
- Open Automations in the Sensoware app.
- Tap Create Automation.
- Enter a name that clearly describes the automation.
- Select the device you want to monitor.
- Choose a trigger and set its condition.
- Select the action to perform.
- Review the automation settings.
- Save and enable the automation.
Manage Automations
Open Automations to view your existing rules. Select an automation to:
- Review its trigger, condition, and action
- Enable or disable it
- Update its settings
- Delete it when it is no longer required
Tips
- Give each automation a short, descriptive name.
- Check that the selected device is online and reporting data.
- Avoid creating multiple automations with conflicting conditions.
- Review your automations after changing a device or its settings.
Troubleshooting
If an automation does not run:
- Confirm that the automation is enabled.
- Check that the selected device is online.
- Review the trigger and condition values.
- Confirm that the selected action is configured correctly.
- Check whether the device has reported data that meets the condition.
